About
Shaina is a Senior Producer at PRX’s Snap Judgment in Oakland, CA. In addition to Snap Judgment, her stories have been distributed by outlets including Public Radio International, National Public Radio, Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting and many others. They’ve taken her to a thorn forest in India, mushroom houses in the Rwandan hills, and a home for retired movie stars in Myanmar. Her work has been supported by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, the International Women's Media Foundation and more. She worked at George Washington University's Writing Center for four years, and has had extensive experience editing college application essays. She has worked with students who speak English as a second language, college and graduate students writing technical papers, and high school students. I
In addition to writing, Shaina teaches audio production and podcasting to professionals and students. Shaina has a BA in International Affairs and Fine Art from the George Washington University, a MA in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies from Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a Masters of Journalism from UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Journalism.
