About
Owen is an MPhil (Masters) student at the University of Cambridge, where he received full-funding as a Keasbey Scholar. He is a high honors graduate of Swarthmore College where he studied political science with a focus on American government and political theory. At Swarthmore, he served as Editor-in-Chief of its student newspaper and earned national recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists for his reporting. In addition, his work has appeared in outlets including The Nation and The Christian Science Monitor. Owen is excited to work closely with students on mastering coursework and producing effective writing in humanities and social sciences courses as well as preparing for AP Exams and the verbal sections of both the SAT and ACT. As a Truman Scholar, Owen is also experienced in navigating competitive scholarship applications as well as crafting successful writing for the Common App personal statement and other supplemental admissions essays.
