ABOUT
Life is Learning
I believe that every stage of life is a learning opportunity, and that quality education is something everyone deserves. I am dedicated to delivering this opportunity to my students. A major pillar of a good education is learning how to learn. No matter what path you choose, whether you want to be a rocket engineer, a dancer, or a world traveler, learning how to learn can help you on your journey in countless ways.

Education has played a definitive role in my life – it was my parents’ fantastic education that allowed them to immigrate to the US with me in the 90’s and start a new life. My own educational journey has been extensive, from winning second place in the California State Science Fair in middle school (Math division) to maxing out my AP classes in high school, completing a BS and MS in Physics from Caltech and now working on my MBA degree from Virginia Tech. Although my degrees and diplomas are in highly technical subjects, I have worked hard to maintain a well-rounded education.

Growing up bilingual and bicultural, I developed a fascination with languages and cultures and so far, I have learned three additional languages and have traveled extensively. I continue to explore the worlds of dance, music, and visual art. I am an eternal student of history and philosophy. I won the gold medal four years in a row on the National Latin Exam, I earned a Certificate of Deep Knowledge of French Language and Culture, I am a proud member of the Alliance Française, I trained professionally at the San Francisco Ballet School. Alongside all these adventures, I have always found joy in teaching others, and it is undeniable that teaching is a true passion of mine.

I have been tutoring for over ten years, both privately and through national-level agencies. I have worked with all age groups from elementary school through college. I primarily teach math and physics and I provide exam coaching (SAT, ACT, GRE, AP exams). I have also helped with French, biology and essay writing.

At Caltech I was the first undergraduate teaching assistant (TA) for the Freshman Physics course that all freshmen take. It was then, while preparing my lectures and publishing my notes that I first recognized my love of teaching. After graduating I worked in numerous teaching positions, including an adjunct professorship of Physics at Glendale Community College before relocating to Virginia where I am now pursuing my MBA. Since relocating, I have continued to teach as a TA for a Virginia Tech undergraduate course in Anatomy and Physiology and I have served as the head judge of the Physics division of the Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair in 2019 and 2020.
One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is the chance to join my students on their journey through school and beyond. I cherish the chance to learn about the world through each of my students’ eyes. The statement that teaching is the best way to learn is very true – I learn as much from each student as I teach. I have seen firsthand what a difference a quality education can make in one’s life and I want to share and pass on what I’ve learned to others because everyone deserves to be educated.
